Top Ten Tuesday

ok, ok, so I know its not Tuesday but I saw Truth Be Told 's post because she saw a friends post about the top ten books SHE wanted to read and so the blog line drops longer and longer... and ends with me, A.K.A. the least likely to be read but I don't blog for people to read, per say, I blog to blog! and figured I haven't posted in like a month so why not?! SO!

The top ten books I have been dying to read! in no particular order :

so these are the books I am dying to read! well the top 10 anyways... I still have 70 more books on my
to-read shelf on Goodreads. And I keep changing my mind about the order in which I will read them...

and yes Modelland is by THE fabulous Tyra Banks, AND its a dystopia! awesome!

have you read any of these? Do you want to read any of these? Do you NOT want to read one of these books? Do you have book recommendations for me?

So lately I have been entering tons of book giveaways. I think that in the past 3 days I have entered about 10 maybe so I'm really hoping I win. One giveaway was a signed cover of the upcoming book  Blessed by Cynthia  Leitich Smith.  (and to get 6 more entry points I'm creating this blog post) :)

With a wink and a nod to Bram Stoker, New York Times best-selling author Cynthia Leitich Smith unites the casts of Tantalize and Eternal in a delicious dark fantasy her fans will devour.
Quincie P. Morris, teen restaurateuse and neophyte vampire, is in the fight of her life -- or undeath. Even as she adjusts to her new appetites, she must clear her best friend and true love, the hybrid werewolf Kieren, of murder charges; thwart the apocalyptic ambitions of Bradley Sanguini, the seductive vampire-chef who "blessed" her; and keep her dead parents’ restaurant up and running. She hires a more homespun chef and adds the preternaturally beautiful Zachary to her wait staff. But with hundreds of new vampires on the rise and Bradley off assuming the powers of Dracula Prime, Zachary soon reveals his true nature -- and a flaming sword -- and they hit the road to staunch the bloodshed before it’s too late. Even if they save the world, will there be time left to salvage Quincie’s soul?

This series sounds amazing and I can't wait to read it!
wish me luck with the contest!

Finding Haven

so I'm an aspiring young author. very young.
I'm 13.
I love to write. always have and always will. So recently I have been working on my very first novel. Whether or not it will get published someday or it will even get finished, I have no idea. I sure hope so, but I know that its a long shot, but I want to do this. Its just one of those things. so right now it is just a ton of scattered ideas, but ideas that I love none the less. right now it is titled "Finding Haven"
Here is the synopsis I wrote for it.

Imagine a world with no parents
No boring history classes
Free… everything
Sounds great right? Wrong.
Radiance is just another 15 year old girl living in an encampment in what is left of Washington D.C. after the second great depression and the spread of world wide disease, the earth’s population is down to just a couple thousand, and they all live in the eastern united states.
Radiance didn’t think anything of her and all of the other teenagers’ lives or experiments, radioactivity exposure, and the fences and guards that surround the encampment. Until she meets Blake, with his ideas of government scandal, ideas of them being behind 9/11… but what if those accusations in the past gave them just the idea they needed to start things over, to gain control.
Where were you on 9/11
2036

books galore

so if you know me, then you know I'm a major bookworm. I am never not reading a book.
I have read tons of books, too many to name them all but here are some of my favorites:

The Hunger Games trilogy by: Suzanne Collins

Evermore series by: Alyson Noel

The Host by: Stephenie Meyer

The Maze Runner by: James Daschner

The Mortal Instruments series
and of course all the Twilight and Harry Potter books.
and as many books as I've read, there are still so many more I want to read.

One of the books on my ever growing list is Branded by Keary Taylor.
My cousin Jenni http://jennimerritt.blogspot.com/ actually helped make the cover for this now published book! I cannot wait to read this one!

others on my wish / to read list:

Unwind by Neal Shusterman
thirteen reasons why by jay asher
the scorch trials by james daschener
the forest of hands and teeth by carrie ryan

and soooo many more! there are actually 59 books on my to-read shelf on goodreads.com and I haven't updated that in a few weeks, so who knows how many more I've put my eye on since then!

oh books, I couldn't live without you...

Strange...

So the other day my mom and I went into town to run some errins. On our way to Jo-ann Fabrics, we saw this guy on what, from  a distance, to me, looked like a very tall unicycle. When we drove closer, he was riding something that looked similiar to this:

How the heck to you get on and off one of those? A ladder or something? But then what if you have to stop and wait for the crosswalk? So many of my questions that may never be answered...
Anyway...
As we drove away and turned a corner, we were amazed by it, and decided we should round the block and find him, and take a picture. We did, and were looking down every street for him, I felt like such a creeper... sadly, we didn't find him...

Another really strange thing I saw was this one time, My BFF Madi and I were at CDA beach

and we walk into the bathroom, and this 40+ woman is facing us, just starting to put her bra on...
She was right there, in the middle of the bathroom, with the door hanging wide open! Couldn't she just wait for one of the many stalls or one of the two changing rooms to open?
I guess some people are TOO comfortable with themselves...
